After using four wheel drive, one day my car would only go in reverse and saw on a chat to try winter drive button. That did work a few times but now does not have drive anymore. Only reverse. I see this problem listed all the time but no one ever responds to their post to say what the fix was. Help please!

The dash indicator lights up correctly with gear selector.

Hi IAMRACHELLE,

Your symptoms indicates a fault in the transfer unit. The 2-4 shift fork is worn and is not moving the selector gear sleeve far enough for the the transmission to be engaged in the forward position. You need to replace the shift fork which is inside the transfer unit.

Thank you so much! The vehicle seems to have this same problem often. Going to try that next week! We took off and cleaned the neutral transmission switch and drained and refilled the transmission fluid so far and neither of those worked. Advice so appreciated!

Hello,

It seems my guy was a little mixed up. This is an automatic type vehicle can I ask if the indicator light comes on when the gear selector is in drive?

Cheers, Ken

Excellent. Lets run the codes to see if it comes up with a shaft speed sensor code.

Please let us know what happens.
