I recently bought a rebuilt transmission from a reputable dealer. When I shift to drive it wants to move but doesn't. I have to shift to first, get up to 10mph, shift to drive and it will shift through the rest of the gears perfectly. When slowing down as soon as it drops below 10 MPH nothing. Then the process starts all over. First, 10 MPH then fine. What could cause this?

It sounds like the pressure regulating solenoid is not working, you will need to drop the pan and change it out here is how in the diagrams below. Please let us know what happens.

Sorry for taking so long to reply but I just got the pressure switch manifold and I will update you on how it goes. Whether it solves my problem or not. Wish me luck!

I do not like to be the bearer of bad news, but it did not solve the problem. I checked the shift solenoids while I had it open, they were good. Changed the filter and seal. The worst part is there were metal flakes in the pan. Enough to cause concern.

I am sorry to hear that, that was our shot to fix it, I sounds like something is broken or not put together correctly and it will need to come back apart.
