I just replaced transmission in my 2011 Dodge ram 3500 4x4 6.7l w/aisin transmision. After rebuilt transmission was installed truck won't turn over or start. It throws code p0850. Replaced transmission range sensor and problem is the same. Diagnostic scanner says no signal on what gear it's in. Ideas?

Hello,

P0850

The transmission PRNDL diagnostics will detect transmission stuck in park error, if the vehicle speed is greater than a calibrated threshold and selected gear is PARK according to the received CAN message. It will also detect transmission stuck in drive error, if the engine crank state is seen while the selected gear is Drive according to the received CAN message.

Suggest checking wiring between transmission range sensor and TCM, also check that there is no vehicle speed signal received while vehicle is stationary.

Pin out at range sensor, 12V and ground

Pin 4, pink/white wire 12V ignition from run/start output at TIPM.
Pin 6, black/light green wire ground.
Pin 10, yellow/dark blue wire 12 ignition from fuse F10(5A) on TIPM for TRS sense.

These wires route through the large black connector C130 near the dip stick tube/fire wall.

The rest of the wires from the range sensor to TCM also route through connector C130.

See images below showing pin out.
