The problem first started intermittently, until I stalled out one day and from then on it wouldn't start by key. I've got a new battery, cleaned terminal posts, new starter, altenator is good, new ignition switch, and the main relay is good as well. I wired the battery and starter to a switch so I could get by until I get the issue resolved. And since the bypass works and my car runs fine, I was thinking the problem has to lie between the ignition and the starter. Any ideas?

Hello,

This could be a problem with your ignition switch. I have included in the diagrams down below a diagnostic troubleshooting guide from your vehicle's manufacturer on how to test the ignition switch to see if it's the problem. Please go through it and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Since you replaced the switch and it is doing the same thing, have you checked the clutch switch? Also, does it have a factory security system? There is a starter cut out relay that is located above the left kick panel that can be bad.

I have to be honest, I'm not sure what you bypassed when you installed a temporary switch. There are fuses, too, which can be an issue. What I did was attach a wiring schematic of the starting system for you to review. Let me know how you bypassed things so I know what has been taken out of the link.

If you decide to check the clutch switch or any other electrical component, here are a few links that you may find helpful:
