Engine became hard to start after running it for a while, I had to let it cool off before the engine would turn over. Now it won't turn over all together I turn the key to crank all dash lights go off. Also been having issues with door lock clicking randomly.

Hi,

If the dash lights go off, either we have a weak battery or a faulty connection at the battery. Are the battery terminals clean and tight?

Take a look through this link:

If they are clean, tight, and free of corrosion, then I need you to perform a battery load test. It is very simple and doesn't require any tools.

Here is a link that explains how to do it:

Let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe

It's nothing to do with the battery after it would run for a while, and I turn it off it would not start 5 min later had to let it cool off 20 minutes or so before it would start tried jumping it nothing. Just had to wait until it cooled off it done this for about 2 weeks every day.

Hi,

I'm sorry but the site's policy restricts me from texting.

As far as the issue, if the starter won't engage when it's hot, the starter could be failing, but the idea that the lights turn off when you try starting it leads me to think there is a weak connection. Are the battery terminals clean and tight, free of corrosion? Have you checked the ground wire going from the battery to the engine block?

Let me know.

Joe
