The security red light does not flash. The key light with a line through it comes on and stays on.

Yes, I have a few of them. They're in this thread up above with the error's pics and so on. I appreciate the wiring diagrams but I don't know anything about electrical stuff. I was trying to take a beginner's course on the subject. But I'm too old for that. It all sounded like mar chin to me. I guess 58 is not the age to learn mar chin. I can check voltage on a battery but that's about it.

Yes, it's a good battery. I don't know why it shows 10 volts. My small OBDII always shows 10V. If I use the voltmeter it says 12V and I'll charge it. I have a charger so I can charge it. My car has not been driven for a long time, so I make sure the battery stays up to its voltage. Do you know of a scanner that can program my PCM with my VIN? I'm returning the XTool scanner because I was out there working on the jeep for hours and I got nothing to work on the XTool. All I got were the errors. They're on the pics I sent on page 1.

I can't do a load test. My battery is good. If not, I'll charge it. I'm going to check the battery now. Charging it as well. I don't think pics from the scanner are going to help.
The light in the car works but not the low or high beam and the horn doesn't work when I lock the car with the fob. The flasher works.

I think the VIN got erased from the computer!

Hello,

Can anyone or everyone recommend a good car scanner? The XTool D8 didn't have a lot of options for Jeeps and my Jeep still hasn't started.
Thx
d

Can the PCM, ECU, and ECM mean the computer? Can it be reprogramed with my VIN, so I know the car will run then. "Just put my foot in my mouth". I'm quite certain that I may have accidentally erased the VIN with the SBB PRO 2 tool.

Yes, PCM, ECU, and ECM means the main engine computer, you can get a preprogrammed unit by searching Google or Ebay.

You know I would consider getting another computer, but the jeep wants to start and I have the cabin lights coming on. I'm sorry, I'm just trying to figure out if I can reprogram the vin number and I would hope that it starts. I don't know much about car computers. I think that if a computer is on the fritz, it would ruin everything or not. Sorry, I'm just one of those people that has to find out why, why did this happen to me. It's also educational for me. So, is there a way to reprogram the VIN back into the PCM?

Gotcha, they are expensive, here is a scan tool that can program the PCM that I can recommend for $2,100.00.

These units can go as high as $5,000.

Yeah, that's out of reach for me. Money is a big factor. Disability doesn't give you much. I Don't know how I'm going to get the jeep running.

I would get a preprogrammed PCM by searching Google or Ebay. Much more inexpensive, especially if you are going to use it just the one time.

I got a new PCM and replaced it with no change. The PCM is not the problem. My car is still not starting.

Not cranking over or cranking and not starting, also please clear the codes and try to start the engine and rerun the codes, can you please send a video of the engine cranking over if the engine not running is the problem. Please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
