Engine will miss while idling and after warmup it falls on its face when I accelerate. There is a service engine soon light on but there are no codes when scanned. The service engine light started blinking when I was pulling a loaded trailer. Oh, and it smelled like a tailpipe was in the cab.
Thanks.

First, does the engine have an exhaust leak? Also, I would change out the fuel filter which is on the frame rail. Here is a video to help you.

If the check engine light is blinking there should be codes unless the PCM is bad. Can you please upload a short video of the engine idling so I can see? We should do a compression test, and replace the spark plugs and possible the ignition coils. We need to see if you have a good engine. Also, please give me a short video of the engine cranking, I can tell if the engine is any good from that as well. Ken
