Hello,
This issue is likely a burn out bulb for the check engine light.
There are several bulbs on the cluster panel that illuminate various lights, they can burn out over time.
In order to replace the bulb, you will have to remove the gauge cluster.
It can be done relatively easily by using simple hand tools. Frist you will have to remove the bezel around the cluster which will expose few bolts that keeps the cluster in place.
The bulbs are on the back panel of the gauge cluster.
As for the bulb type, unfortunately that information is not available. You will have to get it out and get the number of it and find a replacement.
I have attached diagrams for your reference.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
