No bus code 1698

Hi,

This code can be set if the TCM is disconnected, but that usually isn't the problem. Either you have a bad connection or a bad PCM.

If I understand, you have replaced both the PCM and the TCM. Is that correct? If you have replaced with new parts and properly installed, the problem has to be in the wiring or a connector. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Make sure none of the pins in the connectors are pushed in, corroded, or damaged.

Do me a favor. Take a look through the attachments below. They are the diagnostics for a P1698. Let me know if this is something that you are comfortable doing.

You know, I'm sitting and thinking about this. If the starter is engaging, the engine should start even with this code unless the PCM has other issues. Also, low battery voltage can set this as well.
