Hello,
So, these vehicles came with a spot behind the cowl for a cabin air filter. The cowl is the black trim under the windshield wipers. Someone may have added it and it's possibly clogged.
Mopar sells them as an aftermarket accessory but usually didn't come with the vehicle as a stock option. I got a Wix part number for you.
WIX 24903
I would try this first especially because it came on gradually, affects all vents, and if you park around a lot of trees for a long period of time that will defiantly clog it.
You will have to remove the wiper arms to remove the cowl. You will need a 2-jaw puller to accomplish this. It's not hard of a job. Just be careful because part of it is aluminum and can be brittle.
If there is a filter there just vacuum remove and vacuum out the area and install the new filter. Replace cowl and wiper arms in reverse of removal.
If there isn't one vacuum as must as you can either way. Take a light and see if you can if an animal found its way in there.
While you can see through there turn it on and off through the defrost, floor, vents. See if you can see anything out of the ordinary
I am sending a picture of the cowl and filter. I also found a dodge part number.
82208300-I don't know if it is still available though.
By the way, I used to own this exact vehicle and loved it. Comfortable and powerful.
Try these few things and if it doesn't help with the issue just reply back.
Thank you,
Brendon
