My fuel guage stopped working today. I went to fill the car with gas. It was registering 1/4 tank. I fill the tank - $42.00 worth of gas. When I started the car the guage did not move. Then it dropped from 1/4 tank to E and the gas light came on. Hasn't moved since. Possible problems? Approximate cost to repair?

the sending unit on the fuel pump is fualty, about 150.00 to 200.00
