I have a 2005 Nissan Xterra, 68,000 miles. There are 2 cigarrette lighter/power sockets on the front dash console. The top one works but the bottom one doesn't. There is also a similar power socket inside of the arm rest box. That one works. Lastly, there is a power socket on in the rear of the car in the cargo area. That one does not work.

I tested all the fuses in the fuse box inside the cabin by the glove box and all of the fuses were good. There are also fuses under the engine compartment, but I havent tested those yet.

Is this a fuse problem or some other electrical problem? Thanks for any advice.

I am having the exact same issues with my 2005 Xterra as well. The top cigarette light (the one that comes on with ignition, but off without), works perfectly. The one below that (on continuously), and also the one in the rear of the vehicle does not work. I checked the one fuse that is in the inside of the car underneath the glove box, and that fuse checks out just fine. Not sure if there is another fuse I can check.

Waiting for someone to respond to this.

Hello,

There is an accessory relay behind the fuse panel inside the truck that needs to be checked/replaced.

Here is the location of the relay. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

It can be tough to get to I had to spend some time under the dash which is tough for me 75 years old but I got it done, everything working again. This is a good site.
