Transmission not shifting/engaging into gear

Any thoughts? No sounds, no lights, nothing out of the ordinary. Went to park at a gas station and then tried to reverse out of the parking spot when this suddenly happened.

The first thing we should do is run the codes. also, I would check the fluid level, if no codes and the level is okay it sounds like the transmission gear range sensor is out. I have included the location in the diagrams below so you can check it out.
