Hey guys,
I have an '82 Datsun 720, 160k miles, gas z22 engine, 2wd. Just changed the oil, incl Lucas, new plugs, rotor, distributor cap, filters. I have two questions. First, I can't find in the Chilton's (sadly inadequate) book where the vac line from the idle dash pot is supposed to go to. Second, it was dying most every time I put it in neutral. I thought the idle screw needed adjusting so I poked it with a phillips, turned it and not much happened. There was another adjustment screw on a thing un-named by the Chilton's. It's toward the front of the carb, looks like a llittle rubber boot with a white rod sticking straight up from it. This screw adjusts the amout the rod is depressed when the accelerator is engaged. I don't know exactly what happened, but the idle is now way too fast and I can't seem to adjust it down with either screw. Am I boned?
