i have got gearbox ready to come out but will not come past torsion bar crossmember

Hi you either have to remove the crossmember altogether or release the torsion bar tension and then tie the bar down out of the way, whichever method you use make sure that you record the settings on the torsion bar bolts as they need to be reset the same way and when refitting the bolts use some copper grease where they seat in the cross member as this stops them from creaking.
