So. This is the problem.I got a nissan sunny n16 and am facing a problem when it starts. The car won't move forward when I move the gear shift from P to D. But it moves when it is moved from P to 1st gear. So gradually when I then move to 2nd and then to D the car picks up. I changed the engine oil but no response from the car at all. Same problem. My friends say that it may be an electrical problem but I want to know all the other measurements for this problem. Pliz help me.

Dear I have Nissan Sunny 2011 car with auto transmission. Now the problem is that when I am shifting the gear from P to D then some time the car move forward but mostly not moving forward. Then I am repeating the same 3 to 4 times then the car is moving forward. Shifting the gear from P to R is normal. Also from shifting gear from P to 1 or 2 car is smoothly running forward. I changed the engine oil and gear oil but no improvement and both oil levels are normal. Please share how to fix the problem.

Thanks.

These cars had a problem with the input shaft speed sensor for the transmission. It should throw a code but not always. Here is a video of the job being done on a Honda but they are similar.

Here is where it is on your car. (below)

You might have code for it here is a guide so you can see

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
