2007 Nissan Sentra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive 62000 miles

My Mechanic says that my 2007 Nissan Sentra needs a new clutch.My RPM's rev up but my MPH's gauges don't rev up.Is it my Transmission or my clutch?

This is fairly typical off a failing clutch, you mechanic is correct, you will need a clutch o/'haul
