This is 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8. Since purchase of this car I am having this problem. During 3 years warranty period whenever I took to the dealer. They took one or two days to check, and after that they said it is o.k. The funny thing is, it starts right away when in front of those dealer service guys.

But the problem is real and it is becoming more common after 3 years. When the car is idle for several hours, it starts in one crank. But, when I parked it in the sun for couple of hours or the car ran for few hours. It takes at least 3 to 4 cranks to get started. Can you please advise me where the problem is?

I took the car to a mechanic. Without testing engine or electrical systems, he said it may be fuel pump or filter. But I did not buy his opinion because it is very hard to find an honest mechanic.
