2003 Nissan Sentra White smoke coming from tailpipe when fi

It started yesterday around 9:00 AM I started my Nissan up and a lot of white smoke came out of the tailpipe.

Was it the normal steam on a cold day, or was it excessive and continued for a period of time? Also, have you had to add coolant?
