Since last few days I started experiencing problem with my car, as it started giving jerks while started or accelerated.

I was told Spark plugs need to be replaced. Mechanic told out of 4 only 1 can be taken out easily. Rest 3 are hard to be taken out. He mentioned, he needs my approval - As while taking the hard one's out these spark plug might get broken & half will stay inside. To rectify this damage he mentioned there is a high cost around $1600 to $2000.
If all 4 comes out smoothly then there will be cost of spark plugs only.

Isnt there any possibility to take out the tight fitted spark plug without loss, & what could be the cost for these to take out?

As well those Jerks I experience, is it really due to spark plugs?

Thanks & regards,

How many miles on the plugs?

The scenario described is entirely possible, but it's a bridge you'll eventually have to cross. If they are seized, they are probably worn.

I have purchased this as a used car around 85200 miles & probably the previous owner never replaced the spark plugs. It has now 87200 miles on it. I assume spark plugs as well have 87200 miles on it.

Wouldnt there be cheaper alternative?

Usually staying current on the maintenance is the cheaper alternative, but in your case your at the mercy of"how it goes". Maybe the plugs will come come. Maybe the plug(s) break, maybe the head has to come out, Maybe the the plug comes out and so do the threads in the head.

You can try letting it soak for a few days with penetrant around the plugs...Maybe it helps, maybe it doesn't.

I think they will come out.
