Recently my car has become very hard to steer, to the point where it feels like it basically has no power steering when I try to drive. Its very difficult to turn it and on the first day I had this problem I actually saw smoke coming from front axle on the right side of the vehicle.

I have no idea what is wrong with it as it just started doing this a couple of days ago, for a while there has been a "clicking" noise when i turn at a low speed though, had no idea what it was though, now I dont hear that sound as badly but the car is so hard to steer its not safe to drive....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your power steering fluid level. I think one of the hoses is leaking, thus the smoke you see from passenger side axle.

Make sure you fill up with Dexron III ATF fluid, and not regular power steering fluid.
