2000 Nissan Sentra Brake light and battery light

2000 NISSAN SENTRA

Both the brake light and battery light came on about the same time. Brake fluid was just under max and I replaced the batery, but the two lights came back on when I turned the ignition on. Front brakes were replaced in Oct 08. Can you give some other ideas that could could cause this.

Get the alternator and the brake fluid level sensor checked out-
