1993 Nissan Sentra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i need to find out how to set the idle on this car It will not stay running even when my foot is on gas pedal to the floor. Replaced the distributer cap and coil wire as it burnt. Then for some reason it will not stay started now it turns over and dies right back out Please help

A few things that may cause your problem.

1. Did you also replace the distributor rotor when you replaced the cap? You should.
2. Check and make sure all electrical wiring to the distributor, cap, and coil are good and tight.
3. Check fuel pressure on your fuel rail making sure that you have enough fuel supply.
4. Check for vacuum leak on the intake manifold and the throttle body.
5. Check your timing to ensure it is at 8 degrees BTDC.
6. Check idle speed. Locate your throttle cable at the throttle body. Adjust the tightness of the throttle cable by adjusting the two screws holding the cable.
