Field wire on alternator came off while engine running and possibly shorted to stator wire. Battery was dead when I arrived at destination as lights were down to not.I shut off engine and later repaired broken wire but vehicle will not start now.I have spark and fuel and checked to see that rotor was turning properly which it is so I do not suspect timing group. My car has a 1.6 twin cam 4 cyl. Engine and I have had all kinds of suggestions from qualified folks but still car will not run. Any suggestions please?

What color is the spark and also have you checked the fuel pressure.

Subject: Thank you

Spark is crisp and hot yellow like lightning. Don't have fuel gauge to test and are on low budget, aren't we all. Will be testing ECM this weekend with the help of some folks from work and will go from there. Again, I thank you very much for your time and help. Also I have tested, not just looked at, fuses and coil. Spark plugs are new Bosch premium platinum with wires and cap.I have disconnected fuel line to see if it works which it does but I am told it may be low fuel pressure but the way it shot out I doubt it. As such I am making sure ECM is working properly before going further. Again, thank you.

You suppose to have a snapping blue sparky-not yellow-it indicates a weak spark-testout the primary and secondary windings by reading the resistances on it.

Try this, spray some carb cleaner into the throttle body-did it combust-if not we still got a problem with the ignition system and possibly the valve and igniton timing
