Hi, why is my Nissan dealer trying to tell me I need a PCV valve? And if I really do where is it located in the car? Thanks, Mike

This is not uncommon to have them recommend this to be replaced as normal maintenance. They should check them and if they are failed then they are pretty clear. Normally you can just shake them and if the valve inside does't move then they are stuck.
Please see the testing and location info below. It is in the top of the valve cover. Please let us know if you need more info. Thanks

Hi, thanks but how do I remove the cover over the engine to get to the PCV valve? And do I really need to replace it? Thanks, Mike

There are clips that hold the cover on and it should just pull off with a little force. I included the process below but clearly there is not much detail.
As for if you need to replace it, that would depend on why they said you did. Did they give you a reason? If they said it was preventative then I would not replace it until there is an issue with it.

But don’t I have to lift it off to get to the PCV valve cause by the pics you sent me it looks like it’s under the cover correct? Mike

That is correct. It is in the top of the valve cover which would be under an engine cover if it has one.
