2000 Nissan Quest how to remove ctalytic converter

how to remove catalytic converter. apparently plugged engine will not run. keeps quitting. while coming back from trip CC started overheating engine sputtered etc. let it cooled and it ran with difficulty, let it cool etc etc stopped 1/4 mile from house.

I believe it is a welded unit and you will either need to replace the whole section or you can get a universal Cat and cut out the old one and pu in the new one, however, you may need some extra pipe (reducers). I would also take a few measurements of old one and get measuement of new one before cuting out old one.
