1992 Nissan Pintara Speedometer and Odometer

1992 Nissan Pintara 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My odometer hasnt been working since i got the car which is 2 yrs ago. But recently my speedometer has been giving problems. Sometimes it works and sometimes it remains at 0. How do i fix both problems?? Not sure whether the gauge in the dash or speed sensor in the transmission needs replacing.
