Brakes lock up when come to stop

what is the Hydrolic unit on a 87' Nissan Pathfinder. And wher is it located?

Cars have a few hydraulic units, the Master cylinder, on the firewall, drivers side. calipers at the wheels, maybe 4 of them if it has disc brakes all around, If ABS it will have a control unit and a pump, these are also under the hood, the steel lines comming out of the master will go to the ABS.
