98 Nissan Pathfinder 110K miles distibutor problems

I have a 98 Nissan Pathfinder 110K miles. The distributor has gone out/failed 3 times in the last 6 mos. Replaced twice so fair. Seems to occur just after it starts raining. Is something else wrong that is causing distributor to fail?

Rae you installing new/reman. What is being burnt up in the dist. If there is an amplifier of some kind on that vehicle I would suspect that. The parts in the distributor are pretty reliable, you definitly have another problem
