My SUV is a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder and it's never given me trouble before. Recently I had an oil change and the works at Walmart. The car seemed to run smoother. Yesterday I drove it about 200 miles (I live in Atlanta and had to drove to Macon and back), but on the way it started skipping. I turned off my air thinking it was too hard on the engine. I had it checked before getting back on the road and the guy said I didn't have much oil, so we added a quart. That placed it at full, but it skipped and sputtered all the way back to Atlanta. About 75 miles into the return trip, it seemed to do better. What is causing the skipping and sputtering. About a month ago my brother told me he thought I might have a slow leak, but the guys changing the oil didn't seem to find anything.
