No, brake switch just operate the brake lights. Is vehicle starting or not starting at all?

I also thought it might be the gear sifht switch because sometimes it hesitates when putting it in gear like drive, or reverse

Try starting it in Neutral, if it starts then neutral safety switch is OK.

When you say sometimes it doesnt start, what does it do exactly? Does it just crank over and over or does it not crank at all? Is the check engine light on when driving it?

Ok if its not cranking at all sometimes then this could be a failing starter or a failling ignition switch. I suggest having the starter motor tested and if tests OK suspect faulty ignition switch or wiring to switch
