NISSAN MICRA WINDOW REGULATOR

HI,

Ive never personally done one on that car but they are all very similar. Remove door panel.Detach glass from regulator and secure in the up position,use tape over the top of the door frame.Remove any rivets or bolts that are holding it in and remove it!

What do you mean by "secure in the up position" ? and why use tape over the top of the door frame?.
