91 Nissan maxiam will not shut off

Adjusted the cluch switch and now the car will start but now when you turn the key off the engine dose not shut off. Can take the key out engine runs all the warning lights will light up have to pull the ignition relay and the car will turn off. With out the relay you can start and turn off the car fine. Replaced the ignition relay and still have the same problem. Any idea's.
