I have a 1987 Nissan D21 with a z24 engine that will not start. I have no fire at the plugs. Have battery voltage at coils. I have one wire one the distributor. There is no power to this wire with key on. I also checked for voltage here during cranking. I need to know how much voltage should be here, when it should be here and exactly where it comes from.

Power originates at the battery, thru the ignion switch. PDF sent to your email to aid in testing, disregaurd the DIS(distributorless) tests.

No power to distributor so I tried a jumper. Not a good thing. This terminal seems to be ground. It is the only wire anywhere on the distributor. Wiring diagram shows 4. Have no clue where to start. The truck was manufactured in 12/86 if that helps.

My money is on either the power transistor, or crank angle sensor inside the distributor. Remove cap crank engine, does the plate spin inside?
