2005 Other Nissan Models need information

I forget to tighten the radiator cap, and went driving. the tempreture went up but i sopt and replaced the coolant. i check to see if the gasket was blown but its still intact. the pump still works well and the tempriture is good, but for some reason the engine check light will not go off. i need sugessions why this might be happening.

Get it scanned. Most of the time, check engine light doesn't go off for a few engine cycle. Let us know what the code(s) you get.
