2002 Other Nissan Models Air filter

I recently installed a new air filter in my nissan quest. However, there is a small gap between the air filter housing. Will this cause any problems ?

If air get in thru it, it can, this would be unmetered, and can cause idle and mixture problems for the computer. Or dirt could get into the engine around the filter. Depending upon where the gap is...
