the front tires/wheels are spreading out. i have to repair/replace myself. something to do with the steering rack ball joints? Sorry cant donate at this time.

You first have to confirm that all the steering and suspension components are serviceable before any alignment check can be undertaken, if you feel that you are not confident in making a judgment call on these components, get a mechanic to do the inspection for you.
