1991 Other Nissan Models engine not catching

i have a 1991 nissan stanza and the engine will turn over but will not catch unless i spray starting fluid in the intake. i can hear the fuel pump turn on so i dont think its the pump i just got a new filter so now i am at a loss as to what it could be... i know the engine is firing due to the starting fluid its got to be in the fuel system i would think please help

Check the fuel pressure it might be coming On -but is it the correct fuel pressure? and also injection pulses-no pulses the injector/s will not open-no fuel being delivered
