1987 Other Nissan Models grinding when i try to put in gear

will not go into 1,5 gears without working at it . will not stay in 5th gear . must hold it in fifthgear. now grinding in 2 gear also. only goes in 4th gear and reverse with ease. Is this a clutch problem or trans. problem??

If it goes into 2 gears but not the others, the trans is needing a rebuild. The clutch wont work for specific gears but not others
