1983 Other Nissan Models fuel pump

We changed out the fuel pump on 1983 datsun 720 and now the fuel pump wont run unless we connect directly to the batery with a wire. Is there a fuel pump cut off switch I may have tripped?

did you disconnect battery for the repair?

check fuses, fuel pump relay and wiring at the pump.
