2003 Nissan Micra rear window brake light

Hi my rear window brake light has stopped working, we have changed the bulb and the fuse even though they looked perfect but it will not work, the wiring looks ok to the bulb, any suggestions? thanks.

check for good power and ground/earth through wires !

mine once did this, check the wire where it goes into the boot lid, mine had snapped where it was opened and closed regularly
