How long does it take for the battery to power down? In the morning the car will only start when I get a tow for 100yrd the the car starts and its ok all day, starting 1st time, until the next morning then I get the same problem. The car is not firing at all. So how long do I have between rest periods until tjhe batter settles and will not start?

Hi there,

this will depend on a number of things, but first I would have the battery fully bench charged and then get the battery load tested, this will show if the battery is any good.

Just checked the battery and it is reading 13v but its only a 12v battery when car is running it increases to 14v. I have not ran the car for 6hrs. Would something be draining it slowly over a longer period?

The battery voltage is not the issue at the moment, an internal short will drain the battery as quickly as leaving on a light, you will also have to get a current draw test done on the electrical system, this will locate any draw down on the battery with all systems turned off.
