Ignition coil recall

NISSAN MAXIMA

I have a 1999 Nissan Maxima v6, with 67,000 miles. I have had two of the six ignition coils replaced, and had a third done today (there is one per cylinder). This is unbelievable!! Nissan of course recommends using only Nissan parts (like that has worked so far).

Two questions: 1. What about getting aftermarket coils? Are they any better/worse? 2. How do we get Nissan to deal with the issue one a larger scale (recall/Lawsuit)? I see http://www.petitiononline.com/NIS_IGN/petition.html
But is that the best way? Would escalating this to the service manager for North America help when I have to replace the next one, or two, or more?

Thanks,

they are just bad design, when one goes replace everyone of them. Nissan do have a revised coil different than the original. use that and that's it. we have done tons of them years after year. good luck.
