I HAVE A 1999 MAXIMA.

WHEN WE TRY TO FILL UP THE GAS TANK AFTER ABOUT 5 SECONDS FUEL WILL START GUSHING OUT OF THE INTAKE TUBE WHERE THE NOZZLE IS INSERTED.

IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE TANK BECOMES PRESSURIZED AFTER A FEW SECONDS OF PUMPING GAS THE FUEL COMES GUSHING UP PAST THE NOZZLE AND THEN THE NOZZLE SHUTS OFF BECUASE IT THINKS THE TANK IS FULL.

IS THERE A RELIEF TUBE WHICH WOULD ALLOW AIR FROM INSIDE THE TANK TO ESCAPE WHILE THE TANK FILLS WITH GAS THAT MIGHT BE BLOCKED ?

OR MIGHT IT BE SOMETHING ELSE?

THANKS- JOE

Hey Joe,
There is a vent tube that usually is somewhere IN the fill tube line OR a separate line from the tank to the fill tube. I would check that first for an obstruction or kink
