The mirror mounting plate on my car is broken. The mirror is a powered unit and the head of the mirror is painted body color, the mounting plate (plastic) is black like the window and door trim. Can I replace only the mounting plate and not the mirror? Will the head of the mirror come loose from the mounting plate? Othrwise I will have to replace the entire heated, powered, memory function mirror unit. There is no immediate danger of the mirror coming off the car but since it is broken I want to fix it. I doubt glue will do it. Answer this and I will donate $$.
