I brought my car to the Nissan dealer because I hear
a rapid ticking noise from the engine when my car warms up. They checked the oil pump and oil. They
said the oil was very clean. They said do not worry about the ticking noise until something happens.
What is causing this rapid ticking when the engine is on and is warmed up?

Hi needalotofhelp1,

From symtom decriptions I believe the noise are from the valve lifters. If the engine oil has not been changed for some tme, get it replaced and see if the noise goes away.

If noise persists, then you would have to check/replace the lifters. In the meanwhile, if the nosie does not increase in level and intensity with oil pressure good, it is nothing alarming.
