Brakes problem
2002 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently replace the front and rear brake pads. I noticed that the brake pedal travels a little more than before. Some told me that I needed to adjust the hand brake.
I want the brake to start braking as soon as I apply the brake.

Please help

Beforehand, thank you.

By the handbrake handle, there is an adjusting nut that you can turn and adjust the level of when the brake engages. See the attached picture.
