2001 Nissan Maxima V6 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 106000 miles

Recently the 'service engine soon' light appeared on my dashboard. I brought it to the mechanic and he ran the computer tests. The computer apparently indicated that there were problems with ALL four of my 02 sensors are faulty. I am wondering first, is this common to occur at this mileage and second, he wanted to charge $160 for the first, 170 next, 180, third, and 190 for the last sensor, is this reasonable(in addition to the 150 for labor). I also was wondering if I could do this job myself, considering that I am a bit handy and all it is I would think is to put some sensors someplace. Thank you for your help. I understand that maybe because it is a Maxima it might be expensive, but I wouldn't think THIS expensive.

O2 sensors are very expensive, and cannot be cleaned, unfortunetly. The sensors are very easy to change, take a look for yourself, they are located before the catalytic converter usually on the headers or the collector pipes and after the converter. Theres no set mileage for the sensors to go out, some never go out.
