Recently the smell of burning rubber was coming from under the hood and was soon followed by a strange noise when the engine was cold. I thought my drive belt was loose and just needed tightened. Yesterday as I was pulling out of my driveway I heard a noise like the belt had indeed slipped off. I opened the hood and when I was trying to align it on the main drive pully was off. It just spins around. Is this a two piece pully that is fixable or do I have to replace the whole pully?

Hello - I gotta say.....wow.......I wasn't' expecting that one. When you said the main.....well... Okay, is the bolt/washer still there? Is it tight? Has the hole wobble out on the pulley? Have you recently had any work done on this? Also, is this a GLE, GXE, or SE? And the engine is a 3.0L I have attached a pic of the crankshaft pulley......this one huh? Let me know the condition of the pulley hole and bolt......

Yes the bolt and washer are o.k. and were very hard to get off(had to use an impact at 150psi). The only recent work was a new belt 6 months ago. It is an SE w/ 3.0 . The pulley seemed to be made up of two rings and a hardened rubber pressed or heated to hold them together. The center hole was fine because the inner ring was still intact and attached to the crank. If you still need more information let me Know
