About a couple months ago my engine light came on after I visited a gas station. I verified the gas cap was sealed properly. I also noticed some hesitation in the performance... So I purchased dry gas treatment the next time I was at the pump and filled up with high octaine and car ran great. Also after several miles, my engine light went off. I also would like to note that I don't have to commute so my car is rarely moved.
Anyway, the next time I needed gas I made sure that I went to a reputable station and the car continued to run great..
The next time I went to an unknown gas station , my car ran terrible and has ever since. Here are my symptoms:
The car start fine with no issue.
The car idles fine with no issue.. Very quiet.
The car hesitates when you attempt to accelerate.
When you reach 40mph and attempt to accelerate to 50, 60mph, the car hesitates..
When you finally reach 60mph, the car starts to lose drop to 50-40mph.
I purchased fuel injector cleaner which did not resolve my problem.
I purchased dry gas and ran the car for 30 miles on the highway and I felt very little improvement.
I would also note that my car finally reached 70pmh but would not accelerate anymore.

I have seen different threads speaking about the MAS and coils. I purchased the car about 9 years ago and it had 20k miles. The engine light has always been on most of it's life but never performed poorly. I would just get it reset prior to inspection.
It did have problems with the cylinders and did replace them but nothing more.

Can someone please advise what the problem could be; estimate of how much it would cost; and is there anything I can do to remedy myself.. even if it's just to patch it as a temporary workaround.
And finally, is there a way I can reset this Check Engine light myself ?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
